The Forbidden City was home to the
Chinese Emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties and was until
the 1940s out of bounds to all except the Imperial Family.
The courtyard and Palaces cover 183
acres and boy! by this time don't we know it.......
There are some beautiful gardens with
this particular type of lava rock formations which was much prized
by one of the Emperors.
Most of the palaces are beautifully preserved.
But most of the interiors are roped off
The dragons are either male or female.
How do you tell? Well, this is a female, a male would have a
"football" under one of its front paws.
Exhausted, its off to our hotel then out for what was to become
one of many Chinese meals.
