On the approach to the Temple of Heaven
Pat and Catherine take out a little time to barter with the locals
for a few bargains.
The entrance is approached through these
vast archways. The Temple of Heaven is considered to be the
perfection of Ming architecture and certainly the spectacular
views don't belie this.
Zhu Dong, our guide, assemblies the
group and passes on more words of wisdom.
The architecture is amazingly
spectacular to the western eye.
As one goes forward each new vista assaults the senses.
Pat pauses for a few moments in the shade of a doorway, the
temperature is in the 30s. It is only our second day here and we are
not yet acclimatised to the heat, so we are glad to be whisked back
to our hotel.
